Weekly Art Classes for Adults:

Bookings now being taken for Summer 2017!

Classes run 3 terms per year, each 10 lessons long, they are not a course but a series of individual lessons, so you can start at any time even if you are a complete beginner: Spring term starts January , Summer term starts after Easter, and Autumn term starts in September. I have four sessions per week, details and venues below.

Please scroll down to see what the current availability is at each session. If you would like to recieve a booking form and details (without obligation) please let me know! Students joining part way through term are required to pay for the remainder of lessons in the term.

(READ STUDENT'S TESTIMONIALS HERE!)

If you would like to recieve my monthly newsletter detailing my classes and courses, as well as those by other local artists either send me an email or hit the bottom blue button on the left of the screen - you can unsubscribe at any time.

General Class Information:

Who?

This is a class for adults, although I will take sensible teenagers from 15 upwards (with parental consent), in painting and drawing. The class is suitable for any level from absolute beginners with a 'have a go' attitude to experienced painters. No upper age limit! Venues have good disabled access and parking (you will need to manage one or two steps in Colchester)

About:

A friendly and fun class where subjects are provided either as photos or as still life objects. Mainly a watercolour based class but sometimes we may venture into drawing, charcoals, pastels, collage etc, due to demand we now do one lesson per term in acrylics. Class numbers: I do not take more than 14 in a class sometimes less depending on venue size, this ensures you get adequate attention. You can take a sneaky look at the current term's schedule here.

How Much?

The class is £12.50 per lesson, payable per term in advance. For people that need it there is provision for paying in installments. Refreshments (tea, coffee etc) 40 pence per cup.

Please note each week the subject taught (see schedule) will be the same regardless of venue or day, classes roughly follow school term dates. Scroll to the bottom of the page for maps.

How do I join?

Just email me for a booking form - but please check place availability above. You can join part way through a term, you will just pay for the remaining lessons.

Waiting lists...

When a class is full I operate a waiting list for the class, you are not under any obligation by putting your name on the list. Near the end of each term I offer my current students the chance to  retain their places for the next term. For any places that then become available I offer them, in order, to the people on the list, who then say yes or no.  To go on the waiting list just send me an email

(If you enquire about classes or tuition you will be added to my monthly newsletter mailing list so you recieve updates about future classes/courses and tuition I am offering. It is not my intention to send emails to people who don't want them - if the newsletter does not interest you just press the  'unsubscribe' button.)

Art Class Extras:

For those who like to show their work we sometimes have little exhibitions, I also email the class regularly about local open exhibitions and opportunities. Extra activities are entirely optional! You take part or you don't, as you prefer, it isn't school!
