SPRING 2012 - CLASS SCHEDULE
Sat 7th Jan DRAWING – VINTAGE IMAGES
Using photos of days gone by, particularly theatre and film, we will work in graphite or coloured pencil to produce a tonal piece.
Please bring cartridge/coloured paper, pencils or other drawing media.
Sat 14th Jan WATERCOLOUR BUTTERFLIES
Brightly coloured and delicate, watercolour is perfect for butterflies. Please bring your usual watercolour stuff, plus pen if you wish.
Sat 21st Jan PEN AND WASH, TRANSPORT AND VEHICLES
Paint trains, cars, buses or any other mode of transport, vintage or modern! Working in pen and watercolour wash.
Sat 28th Jan BEACH HUTS, LIGHTHOUSES AND PIERS (2 Week subject) Working in Watercolour, combined with other media if you wish, we will be using some of the structures found by the coast as inspiration. This subject is particularly suited to collage, pen or other mixed media.

More time to work on the coastal picture you started last week.

Sat 18th Feb NO ART CLASS THIS WEEK: HALF TERM
Sat 25th Feb PASTEL STILL LIFE - FOOD
Working in pastel, charcoal or conte crayon, a still life will be provided; fresh and preserved food to make an appealing picture. Coloured Pastel paper will be available to purchase if you do not have any.
Sat 3rd Mar DANCERS IN PENCIL AND WATERCOLOUR
This week we will look at the technique of using pencil marks as part of the finished painting. Many artists do this, it gives a similar effect to line and wash, but is more delicate and subtle.
Sat 10th Mar PAINTING FARMLAND (2 Week subject)
Rural scenes of farmland and fields, maybe with the odd tractor thrown in for good luck. Two lessons are available to produce a more extensive piece.
Sat 17th Mar PAINTING FARMLAND (Week 2)
Continuing the landscape you started last lesson.
Sat 24th Mar PORTRAITS IN WATERCOLOUR
Bring a photo of a friend/relative, paint the person opposite (with their permission!), or use one of the photos provided to practice your portraiture

Sat 31st Mar SEASHELL STILL LIFE IN WATERCOLOUR PENCIL
If you have them, please add watercolour pencils to your usual painting kit. Using a combination of watercolour and water soluble pencils we will produce a summery still life.
