SUMMER 2010 - CLASS SCHEDULE

Sat 17th April   DRAWING – STRUCTURE IN THE LANDSCAPE

Focussing on bridges, gates, walls and ruins… Please bring Cartridge paper, soft pencils, putty rubber.

Sat 24th April   NO CLASS THIS WEEK:

(I have a previous commitment to teach a workshop in Haverhill)

Sat 1st May      CLOUDS IN WATERCOLOUR

Try out your cloud painting techniques ready for your summer outdoor painting! Big brushes and stretched paper useful.

Sat 8th May     FARM ANIMALS IN LINE AND WASH

From chickens to horses, a chance to capture this rural subject in the lovely medium of pen and watercolour. You will need waterproof liner pen or dip pen and ink.

Sat 15th May   FIELDS AND MEADOWS

Using watercolour to paint open spaces, using detail and perspective to make the areas interesting.

Sat 22nd May   STILL LIFE – BEACH OBJECTS

Looking at the beautiful subjects to be found on the beach. Shells, driftwood, pebbles… Watercolour pencils may be helpful to add details to your painting.

Sat 29th May    THE BEACH AGAIN, A BIGGER VIEW

This week we look at the beach as part of a scene, learning how to paint the colours, textures, water and waves. Useful items this week: masking fluid, old toothbrushes, white gouache.

Sat 5th June     NO CLASS – HALF TERM

Sat 12th June    KITCHEN STILL LIFE IN PASTELS

A homely subject including fruits, veg and kitchen implements. Bring oil or soft pastels and pastel paper.     

Sat 19th June   TWO WEEK SUBJECT- BEACH HUTS AND LIGHTHOUSES

A chance to take a little longer over a watercolour of coastal buildings.

Sat 26th June    BEACH HUTS AND LIGHTHOUSES – CONTINUED

 A second week to work on your painting.

Sat 3rd July      CHARCOAL STUDY – CLOTHED FIGURES

Charcoal is fabulous for drawing the figure, clothed in this case, models, dancers and people moving and exercising.  

Sat 10th July    SUMMER FLOWERS

Looking at slightly looser ways of painting beautiful summer flowers and foliage.
