AUTUMN 2010 - CLASS SCHEDULE
Sat 11th Sept DRAWING – STATUES
A great subject for shading; please bring cartridge paper, soft pencils, putty rubber. If you prefer you may work in charcoal or chalks.
Sat 18th Sept PAINT YOUR PET! MIXED WATERCOLOUR MEDIA
(Two week subject) Looking at techniques for painting fur using watercolour, gouache and watercolour pencils. You do not need a full set of gouache paints, just white, and black if you have it. Bring a photo, (spare ‘pets’ provided via photos if you do not have one available)

Sat 2nd Oct FOCUS ON VASES - WATERCOLOUR
Sometimes the container can be as interesting as what it holds. A still life featuring colourful vases and objects.
Sat 9th Oct CHRISTMAS CARD SCENES - WATERCOLOUR
(Two week subject) Last year some of my students had their own cards printed from paintings. So here is a chance to work on your designs. Photos of likely subjects provided, but feel free to bring pictures of your village in the snow, robins etc.

Sat 23 Oct NIGHT SCENES IN PASTEL
Pastels on dark paper are a fantastic way of dealing with a night view. Please bring a sheet of pastel paper: dark blue, black or similar and oil or soft pastels as you prefer.
Sat 30th Oct NO CLASS – HALF TERM
Sat 6th Nov TREES IN WINTER
(Two week subject) Tree shapes are fascinating at this time of year. Two weeks to work on a large watercolour based on this subject.

Sat 20th Nov AMERICAN FOLK ART DESIGNS
Working in gouache/watercolour we will be looking at the traditional designs used in folk art. I will also show you how you can scale your design for use as the basis for a mural, mosaic, embroidery or any other craft.
Sat 27th Nov NO ARTCLASS – I am running a 1 Day Course in Pique Assiette Mosaics on this date. If you are interested in booking this course, please ask for details and a booking form.
Sat 4th Dec LINE AND WASH: DOORWAYS
A favourite subject for many artists, doorways and gates are agreat painting subject. Please bring waterproof liner pen or dip pen and ink as well as hot press or normal watercolour paper and paints.
Sat 11th Dec STILL LIFE IN NATURAL TONES
Mixing interesting and varied browns and greys can be difficult. A look at ready made and mixed natural tones, with a still life provided to put it all into practice.
