DISPATCH TIMES

Most artwork will be dispatched within 7 days. On occasion a piece of artwork may need to be retrieved from an exhibition, or may even be required to be kept on exhibition for a certain time period. In this case the buyer will be emailed with full details of any delays and how long they may take, and asked if they wish to wait. It is possible that between payment and retrieval of an artwork it may be sold by a gallery or other outlet. In the rare case that this should occur you will be informed and offered a refund or alternative similar piece.

NEXT DAY/FAST DELIVERY

If you wish to pay extra for a faster delivery service please email me and I will do my best to accommodate this. The charge will be added to your invoice. You will be able to view this before paying.

HOW TO COMMISSION A PAINTING

Contact me initially by email to discuss your requirements. Please note I cannot do exact copies of sold works, but can produce something similar. Portraits can be commissioned but clear photographs will be needed. Work can be commissioned in the following media: Watercolour, Pen and Wash, Charcoal, Pencil.

A BASIC ITINERY OF A COMMISSIONED PAINTING:
The work is discussed in depth with the artist, details and a price agreed.
Half the payment is taken up front. This is non refundable.
The finished work is shown to the client.
If the client is happy the final half of the price is paid and the work is delivered. The key to a successful commission is communication between artist a buyer. I always check at every stage that you are happy with the work.

RETURNS

If you are not satisfied with your artwork or simply do not like it, you may return it within 14 days for a full refund. Refunds will be made by cheque or paypal transfer as you prefer. Work must however be returned in pristine condition and in the original packaging or similar new packaging. Any cellophane covering must not have been removed. Work that is sent back damaged will not be refunded. You are liable for the costs of returning artwork. Work should be sent by recorded delivery or other traceable method. If I do not receive it you must be able to prove it was sent.

LOSS OR DAMAGE IN TRANSIT OR NON DELIVERY

In the case of goods damaged in transit they must be carefully returned to me as stated above. A refund will be issued at my discretion. In the case of non delivery of items under £34 refunds will be issued at my discretion. In any case goods worth over £34 are required to be signed for. Should such goods be lost in transit you will be refunded.

FADING AND CONSERVATION ISSUES

Artworks on paper are fragile. Proper framing will however ensure they last for many years. I have written a freely accessable internet article to help you look after your piece. Please click here to read! It is vital that the work is properly framed and correctly hung. Absolutely no claims will be entertained for degradation of work that has been improperly framed or hung in an unsuitable environment. Fading can also be minimised and usually avoided by careful hanging. Please note however that by their very nature collaged pieces are liable to fading. This should be considered as an intrinsic part of the artwork, and the artist is not responsible for this.

    Hi Michele,
I’m interested in a commission water colour as a Christmas present for my husband.  We have a little house in Kersey and I was thinking about a watercolour of the street.  I have never commissioned a painting before so have absolutely no idea as to the cost and what is involved.  Would love to hear more.
