POSTAGE CHARGES
Artworks on paper to UK mainland include free delivery. Overseas shipping/airmail will be calculated individually. All deliveries will include Royal Mail Insurance. The method of delivery used will depend on the size, weight and destination of the artwork. All works over £34 will be required to be signed for.
DISPATCH TIMES
Most artwork will be dispatched within 7 days. On occasion a piece of artwork may need to be retrieved from an exhibition, or may even be required to be kept on exhibition for a certain time period. In this case the buyer will be emailed with full details of any delays and how long they may take, and asked if they wish to wait. It is possible that between payment and retrieval of an artwork it may be sold by a gallery or other outlet. In the rare case that this should occur you will be informed and offered a refund or alternative similar piece.
NEXT DAY/FAST DELIVERY
If you wish to pay extra for a faster delivery service please email me and I will do my best to accommodate this. The charge will be added to your invoice. You will be able to view this before paying.
COLLECTING WORK FROM THE STUDIO
You may, if you live close enough to me, collect your work from my studio, avoiding postage costs. This is strictly by appointment only, please email.
VIEWING WORK BEFORE BUYING
Work may be viewed at my studio, by appointment only. Please bear in mind that the work may be on display in a gallery or other outlet. Please email if you wish to view work.
FRAMING
Posting glazed work is expensive and almost impossible to get insurance for. Therefore all the works on this site are sold unframed. Artworks on paper need careful framing. A leaflet of hints and tips is enclosed to help you find a framer, choose a frame, and hang your picture. I am however happy to arrange framing if you are able to collect from my studio. The price of framing varies but will generally be in the region of £30 to £50 depending on the size of the piece.
HOW TO COMMISSION A PAINTING
Contact me initially by email to discuss your requirements. Please note I cannot do exact copies of sold works, but can produce something similar. Portraits can be commissioned but clear photographs will be needed. Work can be commissioned in the following media: Watercolour, Pen and Wash, Charcoal, Pencil.
A BASIC ITINERY OF A COMMISSIONED PAINTING:
The work is discussed in depth with the artist, details and a price agreed.
Half the payment is taken up front. This is non refundable.
The finished work is shown to the client.
If the client is happy the final half of the price is paid and the work is delivered.
RETURNS
If you are not satisfied with your artwork or simply do not like it, you may return it within 14 days for a full refund. Refunds will be made by cheque or paypal transfer as you prefer. Work must however be returned in pristine condition and in the original packaging or similar new packaging. Any cellophane covering must not have been removed. Work that is sent back damaged will not be refunded. You are liable for the costs of returning artwork. Work should be sent by recorded delivery or other traceable method. If I do not receive it you must be able to prove it was sent.
LOSS OR DAMAGE IN TRANSIT OR NON DELIVERY
In the case of goods damaged in transit they must be carefully returned to me as stated above. A refund will be issued at my discretion. In the case of non delivery of items under £34 refunds will be issued at my discretion. In any case goods worth over £34 are required to be signed for. Should such goods be lost in transit you will be refunded.
FADING AND CONSERVATION ISSUES
Artworks on paper are fragile. Proper framing will however ensure they last for many years. A free leaflet is enclosed with every unframed artwork dispatched. It is vital that the work is properly framed and correctly hung. Absolutely no claims will be entertained for degradation of work that has been improperly framed or hung in an unsuitable environment. Fading can also be minimised and usually avoided by careful hanging. Please note however that by their very nature collaged pieces are liable to fading. This should be considered as an intrinsic part of the artwork, and the artist is not responsible for this.
